Wilma A. De Hoff Samples Pusch

Private memorial service for Wilma A. DeHoff Samples Pusch, 97, Lawrence, KS will be held at a later date. Burial will be at Memorial Park Cemetery. She passed away Monday, September 15, 2014 at The Windsor of Lawrence.

Wilma was born June 11, 1917 in Reno, KS the daughter of Clifford L. and Stella L. Botts DeHoff.

She was raised in Reno, Leavenworth County, KS area. She resided in Edgerton, Aurora, CO, Wichita, KS, Mission, TX and most recently in Lawrence.

She was a co-owner of Daniel’s Jewelry in Lawrence, homemaker and mother. She and her three daughters and granddaughter enjoyed numerous trips to various cities called “Grandma Trips.”

She married Daniel M. Samples on February 14, 1934 in Lawrence, KS. He preceded her in death on December 28, 1968.

Survivors include one daughter, Carol A. Wenk and husband, Gene, Muskegon, MI; four grandchildren, Marcus F. Sumner and wife, Hilda, Eric W. Sumner, both of Wichita, Daniel H. Hardtarfer and wife, Brenda, Lawrence, Jennifer L. Greenup and husband, John T., Casper, WY; seven Great Grandchildren, Ferris W. Sumner II, Skyler Sumner, Ryan J. Sumner, all of Wichita, Brandon D. Hardtarfer, Lawrence, and Jaymie L. Hardtarfer, Glendale, CO; Katherine M. Greenup Pennant and husband, Dwayne, Concord, NC, Heather M. Greenup Maeger and husband, Kyle, Anchorage, AK. She was also preceded in death by two children, Norma J. Sumner, August 21, 2008, Florence L. Hardtarfer, January 22, 2013; and one grandson, Kelly D. Sumner, November 28, 2008.

A memorial luncheon will be held at a later date.

Memorial contributions may be made in her name to Visiting Nurses and may be sent in care of Warren-McElwain Mortuary.

    I will miss you so much, but am so grateful for all the years and time we had together. We lived apart my whole adult life, but managed to get together twice a year. Those visits meant the world to me and I will remember them fondly forever.
