Velma L. Worley

Funeral services for Velma L. Worley, 84, Eudora will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, January 21, 2014 at Warren-McElwain Mortuary in Lawrence. Burial will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery. She died Thursday, January 16, 2014 at Medicalodges Eudora.

Velma was born November 25, 1929 in Vinland, KS the daughter of Thomas Alfred and Clara B. (Husted) Edmonds.

She was a hairdresser for many years.

She was a member of the Central United Methodist Church. She enjoyed her children and grandchildren, camping, and painting pictures.

She married Robert Lee Worley on March 31, 1950 in Lawrence. He preceded her in death July 8, 2008. She was also preceded in death by her brother, George; sister, Ruth; and a grandson, Jarett Worley.

Survivors include one daughter, Debbie Krische and husband Robert, Lawrence; one son, Allan Worley and wife, Cindy, Hays, KS; four grandchildren, Sarah and husband Jeremy Green, Amy and husband Paul Dunn, Matt and wife Julie Krische, Lisa and husband Brad Smith; and eight great grandchildren, Lucas, Andrew, Natalie, Josh, Callie, Brittany, Rylee, and Levi.

The family will greet friends from 6 – 7:30 p.m. Monday, January 20th at Warren-McElwain Mortuary in Lawrence.

The family suggests memorials in her name to Central United Methodist Church, Medicalodges Eudora, or Grace Hospice and may be sent in care of the mortuary.

    I’m sorry for the loss of Velma L. Worley, sometimes words can’t even begin to take away the hurt, pain and void but let it be a loyal heart sure with prayers and many Psalms in mourning and in joy let His will be done in Heaven and on Earth. Matthew6:9,10; Psalms 37:11; 1 Corinthians 15:55
