Timothy L. Thomas

Timothy L. Thomas, 64, passed away at his home on February 14, 2014 from Alzheimers.

He was born March 18, 1949 in Tonganoxie to Frank and Virginia Thomas.

He worked at Kansas Color Press from 1974 to 1983. He then started his own roofing company from 1983 until 1997, when he fell from a roof and was injured. He then became a jack-of-all-trades, and began his own handyman business, until his death.

He married his first wife, Linda Sue Dunmire in 1971. That marriage ended in divorce, August of 1974. To this union two children were born, a son, Patrick Thomas, Iola, KS; and a daughter, Tracy Gengler (Matt), Iola, KS. Both survive.

He then married Donna Hood on August 30, 1975. To this union a son, Michael was born. Both survive.

He is also survived by five brothers, Roger, David, Doug, and Jerry all of Lawrence, Tom, Oskaloosa; five sisters, Barbara, Oskaloosa, Sue, Lawrence, Donna, Pomona, Sally, Baldwin City, Ginger, Topeka; and seven grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; and a brother, Steven.

He enjoyed his tractors, and working on Building projects. He liked keeping busy, and always having things to do.

The family suggests memorials in his name to Grace Hospice and may be sent in care of the mortuary.

Services were held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, February 18, 2014. Burial followed at Oak Hill Cemetery.
