Teryl Ashley Roberts Norwood

A Celebration of Life for Teryl Ashley Roberts Norwood, 28, of Burlington, will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, September 15, 2015 at the American Legion in Perry, KS. A graveside service will be held prior to the celebration at 10:00 a.m. at Maple Grove Cemetery in Lecompton, KS. The family will greet friends from 6-7:30 p.m. on Monday, September 14, 2015 at Warren-McElwain Mortuary in Lawrence. She died September 10, 2015 at her home.

Teryl was born January 20, 1987 in Topeka, Kansas the daughter of Ken E. Norwood and Connee Calvin Norwood.

She graduated from Perry-Lecompton High School in 2005, where she was named Prom Queen, Class Clown, and the Life of the Party. She also attended Emporia State University and had studied early childhood education. She worked as an Au Pair for a good part of the past 7 years. Teryl had a wonderful way with children, and she brought immense joy and much laughter to every life she touched.

Survivors include her son, Dylan Hanson of Burlington, KS; her mother, Connee Norwood of Perry, KS; her father, Ken E. Norwood of Lecompton, KS; her brothers, Caleb Wasson of Topeka, KS; Carl “C.J.” Fritz of Grantville, KS; her sisters, Kelli (Lowell) Flanner of Lecompton, KS; Caren (Brian) Gottstein of Glendive, MT; Amber Norwood of Wellington, KS; Angelina Castaldi of Manhattan, KS; her grandmother, Louise Norwood of Lawrence, KS.

Memorial contributions may be made in her name to the Headquarters Counseling Center and may be sent in care of Warren-McElwain Mortuary.
