I sure loved your dad and your mom. Steve was friends with my dad and each time I saw him, it made me think of our strong Haskell family. We have such a beautiful family at Haskell.
Sending love to Evan and all the relations. You will reach far beyond your amazing father as he wished.
Thank you Creator for sharing Steve with us for many years ! Many of us loved his humor and excellent nature who wanted the best for all of his friends and family. I enjoyed working with Steve many times. He listened and taught me many things! He helped me many times solve problems! We had a lot of fun! Thank you for sharing him with us! I am sad for your loss! He is probably busy building a place for us along with our Heavenly Father, Jesus our brother and their Spirit of Love along with Marilyn, brother David and all of the rest of your family who have preceded him. Let us Rejoice in our Creator !
Steve was a good man, he will be missed.
Steve will be greatly missed by ALL at Haskell. He was instrumental in many projects on the Haskell campus over the years. He was fun to be around and loved to laugh and talk about his hey-days as a baller for the “Lawrence Indians”. He would light up. Of course he would say things, like “Well, now that you mention it, I was told once that I had a ‘soft’ touch to my jumper!” and he would just smile. He was a gentile giant. I thank God for his life. And I will continue to pray for his sister Danna Michelle, his boys and all of his family whom he loved.
I was a witness to your life. And what a beautiful life it was! We were both students at Haskell together and both worked out there together. You were married to the love of your life! Fathered 2 wonderful sons who love you, respect you, and clearly see you for the strong, caring man that you were. You will be missed my friend, my confidant, my personal hero. Rest in peace. You lived a life of peace, love and joy!
Memories. I remember Steve as a quiet, but obvious presence on the court. One of the best shooters in the hey day of NDN basketball. Condolences to his family and friends close to him.
Rest In Peace big brother 🙏
When I first met Steve I was little intimidated but after a brief time that all went away and I soon realized that he was very respectful and kind man. My condolences to family and friends. May the Lord bless each with His comfort in the coming days and years as we go on without him. I hope we will all honor Steve’s memory, he will be missed.
Steve, you will be greatly missed, but I will see you on the Heavenly court with our Lord Jesus as the referee! We had some fun battles between the Oklahoma Indians and the Lawrence “Haskell” Indians. Great games that ended with both teams as Champions! Everyone that knew you on and off the court loved your quiet, but strong leadership. Blessings and prayers will be sent to your family!
