Funeral services for Rosie B. Little, 74, Lawrence will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, May 11, 2013 at Victory Bible Church in Lawrence. Burial will follow in Oak Hill Cemetery. She died May 1, 2013 at Lawrence Memorial Hospital.
She was born June 22, 1938 in Hollandale, MS the daughter of Asirie Doc and Rosia (Washington) Hunter. She moved here from Mississippi in 1969.
She worked in housekeeping at the University of Kansas until she retired. Prior to that, she worked at Stockley Van Camps for nine years.
Rosie was a member of Community Church of God in Lawrence.
She enjoyed gardening.
She married Josua Little on December 15, 1962 in Greenville, MS. He preceded her in death.
Survivors include three children, Jesse L. (Linda) Hunter, Tony C. Hunter, and Lessie R. Hunter, all of Lawrence; eleven grandchildren; ten great grandchildren; two brothers, Jerry (Zennella) Hunter, Eugene Hunter, all of Lawrence; and three sisters, Georgia Hunter, Cordova, TN, Irene Lane, Topeka, Mattie (Aaron) Turner, Lawrence. She was also preceded in death by two brothers, James Barfield, Sr. and Osbey Hunter.
The family will greet friends from 7:30 – 9 p.m. on Friday, May 10, 2013 at the mortuary.
The family suggests memorials in her name to Lawrence Memorial Hospital – Oncology and may be sent in care of the mortuary.
Mother Rosie Little was a very special lady and loved by everyone who knew her. Please know that The Community Church Of God Family share in your grief and extend our deepest sympathy to your family.
