We are so sorry to hear about Bob’s passing. He was always in a good mood with a smile on his face, a reflection of his good sense of humor. We will miss his emails with political jokes and cartoons. Bob, rest in peace, we will miss you!

So sorry to hear about Bob’s passing. He’s been a long-time friend of ours. We, and then our son, played many games of badminton with him in my folks back yard. We called last night to wish him happy birthday and catch up, but obviously no answer. He will be missed.

Bob was a good man, true to the military and true to his beloved country. His wit, wisdom, and easy laugh will be missed by all. May God bless you and keep you always, Bob.

A daily mainstay for coffee at HyVee. His ironic sense of humor was appreciated by all who spoke with him. A former co-worker told me once that ‘He is a really smart man.’ I must concur.

    Salute, Bob.

He served his country long past his days in the Air Force. I will always remember him as a soldier in the search for Truth in the trenches of Douglas County during the tyranny that beset our America. He had a place at the table of pertinent conversations, always looking for a way to shed light and insight. Regrets that I did not stay in touch after leaving Lawrence. I hope he felt the high regard of many in the community he called home.
    He was dear.

I have known the entire Hy-Vee coffee crew for many years. I am an employee of Hy-Vee. I talk to this crew daily, including Bob. All I know about Bob is he loved his biscuits and gravy. He also loved talking to the coffee crew. I enjoy having fun conversations with the entire hyvee coffee crew. I consider them all friends and good people. I want Tim, Tony, Bob, Dale, CJ, Al, and the rest of the coffee club to know, I enjoy our interactions and the fun and jokes we have together every day.

Bob, You were a dear friend for almost fifty years. We were almost like brothers and there were many times when you freely gave me needed council and advice. Like the older brother I never knew, you could be stern but always ready to offer help and guidance when needed. Your voice will forever ring in my memory. I will miss you, old friend. Rest in peace.

It’s with sadness that I’ve learned of Bob’s passing at his home in January. I’d known Bob since the 1960’s when we served in the Air Force. I remember when he was honorably discharged in 1965, he had earned the rank of Staff Sergeant. Following his military service, he attended The University of Kansas and I witnessed his graduation ceremony. We have corresponded regularly over the years as I have lived in Illinois and Arizona for nearly sixty years. To all of his many friends, please accept my condolences. He was a good man.
