Robert M. Austin, Jr.

Robert M. Austin, Jr. passed away peacefully in his sleep on January 9, 2015, just as he wanted. A native of Lawrence, Robert was a giant amongst men. Smiling, cracking jokes, helping a stranger with a flat tire, Robert was a spiritual being who believed in paying it forward. He will be celebrated by all who knew him; his three sons Antwon Smith, Bahij Austin and Adrian Austin; three granddaughters, one grandson; four sisters and four brothers; a host of nieces and nephews; and a myriad of friends. A memorial service will be held at a later date determined by his children. Dance, smile, laugh, and love; all things he would tell us to do in place of crying.

We are sorry to hear of your loss. The death of a loved one is such a difficult time for the entire family. We hope you can find comfort in God’s Word the Bible. At John 5:28, 29 the man Jesus Christ said, “…the hour is coming in which all those in the memorial tombs will hear his voice and come out…” This scripture helps us to appreciate that one day in the near future we can see our loved ones whom we have lost to that enemy death. What a wonderful hope for the future. We are confident that this scripture and other verses in the Bible will provide some solace and relief during this time of sorrow.
