Funeral service for Richard “Slick” Eugene Fraser, 83, Lawrence will be held 2:00 p.m. Thursday, May 29, 2014 at Warren-McElwain Mortuary. Burial will follow at Oak Hill Cemetery. He died May 25, 2014 at his home.
Slick was born on February 25, 1931 in Iola, KS the son of Benjamin Farris and Cora Blanche (Snodgrass) Fraser.
Slick was a member of the Masonic Lodge # 6 AF&AM, Abdallah Shrine Mounted Patrol, Elks Lodge #595, B.P.O.E.
He married Shirley Yvonne (Cress) Fraser on December 31, 1950 in Iola, KS. She preceded him in death on July 28, 2003.
Survivors include his companion of nine years, Margaret Morris, Lawrence; two daughters, Cindy Wendt (Larry), Warsaw, MO, Teresa Krambeer, Lawrence; son, Doug Fraser, Lawrence; numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, daughter, Michelle on August 10, 2001 and Brother, Kenneth.
Memorial contributions may be sent to Visiting Nurses or the National Kidney Foundation.
The family will greet friends from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. Wednesday, May 28, 2014 at the mortuary.
