Richard H. Henderson

Private graveside services will be held at Eudora City Cemetery for Richard H. Henderson, 87, Lawrence. Richard passed away Sunday, May 5, 2019 at Pioneer Ridge Assisted Living in Lawrence, KS.

Richard was born September 24, 1931 in Mountain View, AR, the son of Hubert and Ollie (Engle) Henderson.

He was a Security Guard at Hallmark for many years until his retirement.

Richard was a member of Cornerstone Southern Baptist Church for many years.

He married Fern E. Menhusen on July 29, 1995 in Lawrence, KS. She survives of the home.

Other survivors include his son, Roger (Nancy) Henderson, five grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his sister, Juanita Corter.

The family will greet friends from 11 – 1 p.m. on Thursday, May 9, 2019 at Warren-McElwain Mortuary in Lawrence.

Memorial contributions may be made in his name to Cornerstone Southern Baptist Church and may be sent in care of Warren-McElwain Mortuary, 120 W. 13th Street, Lawrence, KS 66044.

    Sorry to hear about him he was like a grandpa to us. We miss him and he was such a loving and kind person. I remember he always liked to ask lots of questions too. He always had a big smile when we came to visit and he would ask my daughter how old are you? He always loved to eat strawberries and would eat them all when we bought some for him. We will never forget him his spirit still lives . We love you Richard and fern.

    I was so sorry to hear of Richard’s passing. He was such a good and kind man.
