Rebecca “Becky” Ann Lisher

Memorial services for Rebecca “Becky” Lisher, 86, Lawrence, will be held at 10:00 am on October 30, 2023, at Trinity Lutheran Church with inurnment to follow at Memorial Park, Lawrence. Becky died October 22, 2023, at Lawrence Memorial Hospital.

Becky was born on February 7, 1937, in Kansas City, Kansas, the daughter of Paul Fred and Helen Pearl (Wells) Boeck. She attended schools in Kansas City, Kansas.

Becky met the love of her life, Melvin Lisher, and was married February 14, 1954. They enjoyed over 60 wonderful years together. She was a homemaker and bookkeeper for Mel Lisher Electric. Becky was a loving wife, mother and Granny and was happiest when spending time with her family and friends. Through the years, she loved attending her sons and grandchildren’s sporting events, traveling with their camping group and rarely missed watching her son, Bob, coach high school football on Friday nights. Sundays were meant for Church and watching Chiefs football games. She was an avid gardener and enjoyed watching her hummingbirds and finches in her backyard.

Becky was a member of the Trinity Lutheran Church and the Ladies Auxiliary of American Legion.

Her husband preceded her in death on January 10, 2015. Survivors include two sons, Mel Jr. and wife Charlene, Bob and wife Diana, five grandchildren, Chad and wife Mandy, Jayme (Savage) and husband Blake, Carl and wife Jordan, Brett and wife Darci, Michael and wife Melissa and 15 great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at 9:00 am at Trinity Lutheran Church.

Memorial contributions may be made in her name to the American Cancer Society or to the Trinity Lutheran Church in care of Warren-McElwain Mortuary.

    Becky was the best neighbor! We spent many hours just sitting and talking with her on her bench on her front porch. She was a bonus grandma to our daughters who would run over and say hi every time she was out and they always seemed to come home with a snack after visiting! Our thoughts and prayers are with her family.

    To Sonny and Bob, I love you guys and my prays are with you and your families. I will miss talking to my Aunt Becky. I loved her so much. She made me laugh and sometimes cry. She was a wonderful woman.
