Raymond Edward Patterson

Graveside service for Raymond Edward Patterson, 77, Lawrence will be held at 1:30 p.m. Friday, January23, 2015 at Oak Hill Cemetery. He passed away Monday, January 19, 2015 in Lawrence.

He was born September 15, 1937 in Lawrence, KS the son of Arthur and Edna (Corbin) Patterson.

Heserved his country in the United States Army.

He was a member of the Painter’s Union, International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers IBEW Local 226, American Quarter Horse Association, Douglas County Trail Riders, and rode Motorcross.

He was an electrician with IBEW Local 226 Topeka, where he had a long career working for Norris Brothers Electric, Huxtable Electric and was a supervisor at the University of Kansas.

Survivors include two sons, Greg Patterson, Raymond Patterson; four grandchildren, Jake Ellis, Chasity Little, Shelby Patterson and Sabina Huskey; three great grandchildren; Makayla Patterson, Christopher Little, Kallie Little; and two brothers, Galen Patterson and Bobby Patterson. He was preceded in death by his parents; and one sister, Marilyn Bailey.

The family will greet friends from 6– 8 p.m. Thursday, January 22, 2015 at Warren-McElwain Mortuary in Lawrence.

Memorial contributions may be made in his name to Babcock Place, Lawrence and may be sent in care of the mortuary.
