Phyllis Marie Fulton

Graveside services for Phyllis Fulton, 77, Lawrence, will be held at 11:00 a.m., Monday, October 26, 2020 at Oak Hill Cemetery in Lawrence, KS. Phyllis passed away Monday, October 19, 2020 at her residence. Please be aware that due to COVID-19 and safety precautions, we are asking her loved ones to please respect and comply with social distancing and must wear a mask.

Phyllis was born April 29, 1943 in Anguilla, Mississippi, the daughter of Johnny and Phyllis Demby.

She is survived by her children; Donna Fulton, Howard Fulton, Rita (Byron Mays) Fulton-Mays, Stacey Hill, siblings, Samuel Demby, Lessie Mae Rhodes, Ann “Gladys” Demby, grandchildren; Lance Atkins, James Nance, Gene Nance, Christopher Fulton, Boomer Mays, Candance Fulton, Levi Hill, Joshua Hill, Darian Shay Hill, and ten great-grandchildren.

Phyllis was preceded in death by her parents, siblings; Rebecca Dean, Richard Demby, Beau Demby, Frank Demby, Bobby Funchess, Dorcus Taylor, Easter Pennington, and a grandson, Pete Nance.

Phyllis will be lying-in-state, Friday, October 23, 2020 from 8:00 am ~ 8:00 pm at Warren-McElwain Mortuary in Lawrence, KS. Please be aware that only 45 people are allowed inside the mortuary at one time and due to COVID-19 and safety precautions, we are asking her loved ones to please respect and comply with social distancing and must wear a mask.

With social distancing in place, and masks being required, family and friends are welcome to attend in person or while listening to the graveside service from their vehicles on the radio station 89.7 FM provided by Warren McElwain Mortuary.

Memorial contributions may be made in Phyllis’s name to Visiting Nurses or may be sent in care of Warren-McElwain Mortuary, 120 W. 13th Street, Lawrence, KS 66044.

    TT will be miss. I don’t see her every day but the phone call to just hear her soft voice and that laugh she had always made me feel like I was there talking face to face. You RIH now With no more pain and give the family my love

    To my Edgewood family. At times like this we look to the Lord for peace and comfort trust in the Lord lean on him. Stay strong and stay together as a whole. You had one of the best mother’s anyone could ask for. Jeep making her proud. You all are truly in my prayers and I love you all bunches ???????? Family for ever ❣️
