Funeral services for Peter “Skip” Allen Skahan, 30, Lawrence, will be 11 am Friday, April 20, 2012, at Lawrence Free Methodist Church, 3001 Lawrence Avenue. Private Family Burial will take place in Oak Hill Cemetery. He died Sunday, April 15, 2012, at his home.
He was born on December 7, 1981, in Lawrence, KS, the son of Robert E. and Patricia A. (Gregory) Skahan.
Skip graduated from Free State High School in 2000. He attended the University of Kansas. He enjoyed baseball, soccer, softball, and basketball but his greatest joy was his friends and family. He was a believer and Christian. Skip loved the Kansas Jayhawks. He was a football and basketball fan. Skip was well loved by his family and friends.
Survivors include his parents, Overland Park, KS; sister, Carrie E. Skahan Fitts and husband, Adam, Overland Park; maternal grandmother, Margaret Gregory, Abilene, TX; Aunts and Uncles, Dr. Paul Gregory (Becky), Collierville, TN, their children, Daniel and Amy; Donald and Eva Skahan, Overland Park, KS, their children, Krista, Bob, Beth; Dr. Sanford Radom (Mary), Stillwell, KS, their children, Patrick Shehane, Mark and Dan Radom; Dr. Gary Patzkowsky (Marcia) Enid, OK, their children, Dr. John and Krista. He was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, Paul Gregory and Fraternal grandparents, Donald and Darlene Carrie Skahan.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Lawrence Wesleyan Church and may be sent in care of Warren-McElwain Mortuary, 120 W. 13th Street, Lawrence, KS 66044.

My thoughts are with the Skahan family at this time. I had the pleasure of enjoying memorable times with Skip at our fraternity at KU, memories that I will never forget.

I knew Skip from Free State and Kappa Sigma Fraternity, and my thoughts go out to the Skahan family. Skip was a great guy, a kind man, and he will be missed many.
I sooo wish I could be there with you, and give you hugs and kisses. But as you know, my hip replacement is on the 19th, then recovery. May the Lords peaceful blessings on you all.

My sincere condolences to the Skahan family. I remember playing DCABA baseball with Skip back in the day at the fairgrounds. We didn’t see much of each other over the years but anytime we did cross paths we greeted each other as good friends and with good conversation. Dear Mr. And Mrs. Skahan and Carrie, so deeply sorry to hear of Skip. I still remember the days fondly of us all on the soccer fields in Lawrence. Bob and my dad coaching and Carrie, Skip and I playing. I reflect on those days often.
