My memories of time spent with the Fagan family in Springfield, Virginia, grow greater with each passing year. The Fagans welcomed me with open arms – a gesture I’ll never forget.

Mr. Fagan literally was an officer and a gentleman – a description given to many but deserved by few. Mr. Fagan is deserved and then some.

    Dear Family of Captain Fagan,
As you know, you’ve lost a great man. An officer and a gentleman, he was, always. I was an associate principal at Shawnee Mission West when I met him and he taught me everything about NJROTC and the Navy with aplomb. As we grew and sustained the program at West, he was always gracious in his guidance and teaching. He grew and mentored many fine men and women in the program and made an indelible, positive contribution to many students’ and adult’s lives- including mine. May his memory be eternal.
