Visitation for Myrna N. Benson, 64, Lawrence will be held 5-7 pm Wednesday, March 23, 2016 at Warren-McElwain Mortuary. Funeral service will be held 10:30 am Thursday, March 24, 2016 at Warren-McElwain Mortuary. Burial will follow at Oak Hill Cemetery. She died March 19, 2016.

Myrna was born on April 16, 1951 the daughter of Philip Benson and Susan (Bull) Benson, of Fort Berthold, North Dakota. She graduated from Flandreau Indian Nations University where she obtained her Associate Degree in Liberal Arts.

She is survived by her daughter DeAnna Wahwahsuck and sons, Wendell Benson and Phillip Wahwahsuck, two brothers, Joey Benson and David Benson and two sisters, Alice Benson and Yvonne Benson.

    Myrna was a pretty outstanding person. She did an excellent job of whatever was assigned to her. She took my Indian Law class, and she was really extraordinary – always prepared. I am so saddened to hear of her passing.
