Mike was born July 13, 1950, the son of Charles Noble and Mary Boyce Noble, in Des Moines, Iowa.
He graduated from North High School in 1969. As a high school student, he excelled in wrestling. He received a scholarship to attend Graceland University, where he was a member of the wrestling team and graduated in 1973. Mike also won the Iowa State Wrestling Championship Award. He also took classes late at The University of Kansas. He was a teacher in the Kansas City, Missouri School District and substituted in several local schools. Later he sold real estate.
As a youth, Mike spent his summers at his grandparent’s farm near Seymour, Iowa. He had many fond memories of his grandmother and the time he spent on the farm. He also enjoyed working as a farm hand on a neighboring farm and fishing with his cousins. Among his hobbies were running, bicycling, hunting, and fishing.
Mike is survived by a daughter, Kathryn A. Noble, of Lawrence; a sister, Patricia (Patty) Dunham, a nephew, Tyler Palmer, and a niece, Lindsey Palmer, all of Stockton, California; and several uncles, aunts, and cousins in Iowa. He was preceded in death by both parents.

SOrry to hear the news about Mike’s passing. We have many fond memories from high school and Karen has memories from Graceland. LeRoy will never forget the time Mike and Gordon came to Tennessee to see me as they were going to Florida. He will be greatly missed by everyone who knew him.
So sorry to hear of Mike’s passing. We went to grade school thru high school to gether. Mike was one of the “good guys”. My thoughts and prayers to Patty and family.
Rest in peace Mike. It was a privilege
to have been your friend in this life. I will be looking for you in the next.
We’re gonna miss ya “Boog”. Even though I haven’t seen Mike for 30 years, I still considered him my best friend. From grade school on, we shared some great times. I pray for Gods’ blessings for the family, and they can rest easy knowing Mike will not be forgotten. “I never had any friends later on, like the ones I had when I was twelve…”
Mike was a friend and a teammate of mine at Graceland and he will be missed but not forgotten. I have many happy memories of Mike not only from our college wrestling days but also after college while he was coaching wrestling at Van Horn High School. I officiated some of his duals. Rest in peace my friend and my thoughts and prayers go out to you and the rest of your family.
I met Mike through the Des Moines YMCA Camp near Boone, Iowa in May of 1970. We were both staff counselors there in the summers of 1970 & 1971. Mike was the big brother I never had as I grew up with all older sisters. Mike & I became fast friends with similar interests. He was my mentor. I knew Mike’s sister, Patty, from Hoover HS. Patty & I were in the same class year throughout high school. Patty, I am thinking of you & sending good vibes your way. Your brother Mike was a magnet with the YMCA kids. They loved him dearly enjoying his playful endless energy & natural teaching skills. He had captured many kid campers who were homesick with his big friendly smile & open arms with hugs for all making them feel safe & in a good environment at YMCA Camp. I visited Mike regularly during his Graceland College years as he worked toward his teacher’s credential & wrestled for Graceland. During the school year when Mike had time & his father, Chuck, needed help with his painting contracts, we would perform “all night painting events”. Mike loved his family & always helped out wherever he could. Even though we did not stay in touch over the years, Mike has remained in my thoughts throughout my life. I’ve thought often about his positive attributes he shared so kindly with others. He was an angel in life helping others. Now he’s an angel at peace from above as a star in our night sky.
