mary jo and i met when her husband and my mother had passed away. she became a second mother to me and i loved her dearly as i did my own mother. i know without doubt she is with Jesus and her husband now. she is gone; but the memories we shared together will always be with me. God gave the two of us a special bond that even death can’t take away.
    I’M FREE
DON’T GRIEVE FOR ME, FOR NOW I’M FREE
I’M FOLLOWING THE PATH GOD HAS LAID YOU SEE.
I TOOK HIS HAND WHEN I HEARD HIS CALL
I TURNED MY BACK AND LEFT IT ALL
I COULD NOT STAY ANOTHER DAY
TO LAUGH, TO LOVE, TO WORK OR PLAY
TASKS LEFT UNDONE MUST STAY THAT WAY
I FOUND THE PEACE AT THE CLOSE OF THE DAY
IF MY PARTING HAS LEFT A VOID
THEN FILL IT WITH REMEMBERED JOYS
    A FRIENDSHIP SHARED, A LAUGH , A KISS
OH YES; THESE THINGS I TOO WILL MISS
BE NOT BURDENED WITH TIMES OF SORROW
I WISH YOU THE SUNSHINE OF TOMORROW
MY LIFE’S BEEN FULL, I SAVORED MUCH
GOOD FRIENDS, GOOD TIMES, A LOVED ONES TOUCH
PERHAPS MY TIME SEEMED ALL TOO BRIEF
DON’T LENGTHEN IT NOW WITH UNDUE GRIEF
LIFT UP YOUR HEART, AND PEACE TO THEE
GOD WANTED ME NOW; HE HAS SET ME FREE

Mary Jo, although I only got to know you through our dear friend Peggy, I wanted to say how much joy you brought to her over the years. You came into her life at a very hard time and gave her 11 yrs of a second mom. I know you are at peace and enjoying your journey with our Lord Jesus.

I will always remember Mary for her beautiful hand writing. We knew Mary and Bob through CMA (Christian Motorcylists Associaton) thru the Lawrence chapter Heaven’s Angels. I was privileged to take a trip back to upstate New York for her 50th class reunion.
