Marsha L. Jessee

Private family viewing for Marsha L. Jessee, 60, Lawrence will be at Warren-McElwain Mortuary in Lawrence. She died Wednesday, December 16, 2015 at home.

She was born July 16, 1955 in Kansas City, MO the daughter of Alvin and Ethel Marie (Moore) Baxter.

She was a bus driver for the Lawrence Seniors and for the Lawrence School District.

She enjoyed cooking and baking and recently completed a Master Chef program. She also enjoyed painting. She was a member of the Audubon Society.

She married Richard Jessee on July 16, 1976 in El Paso, TX. He survives of the home.

Other survivors include two sons, Aaron Jessee, Skylor Jessee, both of Lawrence; three sisters, Christine Frans, Donna Perkins and Faye O’Conner; brother, Jimmy Baxter; nephews, Spencer Gleese III, Jesse Pacheco; and nieces Chrisandra Baxter and Mary Sledge.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in her name to the Marsha Jessee Memorial Fund and may be sent in care of the mortuary.

    She brightened every place she occupied. Her flashing smile and quiet courage were memorable in this sometimes grey world. She was a great lady.
