Funeral services for Mark Alan Grinstead, 68, Lawrence, KS will be held at 6:00 p.m. on Monday, September 26, 2022, at Warren-McElwain Mortuary in Lawrence with a visitation starting at 4:00 pm. Burial will take place 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, September 27, 2022, at Leavenworth National Cemetery in Leavenworth, KS. Mark passed away on Saturday, September 17, 2022, at the University of Kansas Medical Center in Kansas City, KS.
Mark was born on November 5, 1953, in Lawrence, KS, to Hugh and Dorothy (Hammer) Grinstead.
Mark married Margaret “Midge” Howey on November 28, 1986, in Harveyville, KS and she survives at the home.
Other survivors include his wife, Midge, children, David (Danielle) Remboldt, Christine Hyatt, Kari Holt, two sisters, Debbie (Daryl) Beene, Peggy Gravette, and 12 grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, and two siblings.
Mark served in the U.S. Army 25th infantry for seven years.
Mark was a Fire Fighter and Fire Inspector for the City of Lawrence for 26 years.

I worked a number of years with Mark. Also enjoyed a few pheasant hunting trips. What a shock and what a loss. Sincere sympathies to the family.
