Marjorie Barham

A memorial gathering for Marjorie R. Barham, 81, of Bella Vista, AR, will be from 5-7 p.m. Friday, January 7, 2011 at the Alvamar Country Club in Lawrence, KS.  Private interment will be at Oak Hill Cemetery in Lawrence.  She died on Tuesday, January 4, 2011 at the home of her daughter and son-in-law in Lawrence.

She was born on October 3, 1929 in Red Oak, Iowa, the daughter of Leon and Ethel Mae Kizzier Brenner.

Mrs. Barham was a homemaker.  She and her husband had lived in Bella Vista, AR for the past ten years, before moving there from Bellevue, NE.  They had earlier lived in Greece and England.

She enjoyed family gatherings, shopping, golf, and her beloved dog, Zoe.

She was married to Jack D. Barham on October 5, 1981 in Omaha, NE.  He survives of the home.

Other survivors include a daughter, Kathy and husband, Dick Stuntz of Lawrence, three sons: Mike and wife, Becky Osmun of Allenspark, CO, Mike and wife, Elizabeth Barham of Houston, TX, Todd and wife, Leslie  Barham of Houston, TX, two sisters, Gwen Layne of Omaha, NE, Shirley Guertler of Iowa Falls, IA, eight grandchildren, nine great grandchildren and one great-great grandchild.

The family suggests memorials in her name to the American Cancer Society and may be sent in care of the Warren-McElwain Mortuary.

    Jack: Yudi and I are very sorry to hear of your loss.
    Marge was the ultimate fighter,she gave me some good advice and encourage when I was fighting my cancer. I always enjoyed working for you and enjoyed Marges wonderful personality.     I’m so sorry to hear about Grandma Marge. I know she had not been well but it’s sad to hear that she is gone. I hope there is some relief in the end of sickness.
    I enjoyed her so much the few times I got to meet her. What a lively girl she was.
