A private family graveside service will be held for Marilyn Sue (Northington) Wilson, Friday, December 2nd 2022, at Eudora Cemetery. The family will welcome friends and family at Marilyn’s home: 115 W 15th Street, Eudora, KS from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Friday, December 2, 2022. Marilyn passed peacefully in her home on Saturday, November 26th, 2022.
Marilyn was born on March 9, 1942 in Kansas City, MO, the daughter of Edward D. and Mary B. (Brandmeyer) Northington.
She had worked at Hercules, Howard’s Super Saver, and Eudora High School until she retired in May of 1999.
She was a member of the Eudora United Methodist Church.
Marilyn married James E. Wilson on July 10, 1960 in Kansas City, MO.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, her granddaughter, Kimberly, and her brother, Edward D. Northington. Survivors include her two daughters, Lynn Wilson-Bruce, Lori (Terry) Coffman; six grandchildren, Tim (Ami) Bruce, Andy Coffman, Jimmy “Jim” Bruce, Ashley (Coffman) Markley, Lora Bruce, Michael (Emma Lyne) Bruce; and five great grandchildren; Raelynn and Ryder Markley, Preston, Porter, and Piper Bruce.
In lieu of flowers, Memorial contributions may be made in Marilyn’s name to the Lawrence Humane Society or Eudora Parks & Recreation and may be sent in care of Warren-McElwain Mortuary, 120 W. 13th Street, Lawrence, KS 66044.
Rest in Peace my birthday buddy! There were so many years when I was young that we shared a cake. Even after we moved to Ohio, there wasn’t a year that went by that there wasn’t a mention of your birthday too. I am sure that even now I will think about you every year on our day. There are so many things that I would like to say, but words escape me. Marilyn, you were like a second mom to me growing and you will continue to have a special place in my heart. I am just sorry that I didn’t get an opportunity to tell you this in recent years. Lynn, Lori and family, you are all very special to me and although time and circumstances have changed our relationship, please know that I love you all like family. I share in your grief and sense of loss. Jack and I send our prayers.

Marilyn and Poppa Sax were one of the first couples we had the pleasure of meeting when Scotty and I moved to The Lake of the Ozarks. We had many a great and wonderful time with them, and got to know most all of their families. My heart is saddened by this news, but yet at the same time, I feel very joyful for Marilyn, as I know that she is now back with her one true love, Jimmy. May you, as her family ALWAYS feel her love around you everyday. She truly loved her family more than anything else, including the Kansas Jayhawks! 😘. Our condolences.

I remember dancing at Marilyn and Jimmy’s wedding when I was six years old! I like to think that is what they are doing now! She is a treasure and my heart and prayers are with you Lynn and Lori and Family. Oh how she loves you All! That never leaves.
I am so sad this morning to find out Marilyn passed. Marilyn and Jim were some of the first to be so kind and welcoming when we moved to Eudora in 1975. Lynn and Lori were always such treats to be around and we loved their whole family. We worked with Jim and Marilyn at SFAAP where they were both devoted, hard-working & knowledge production operators. Marilyn was a lovely person, friend, wife, mother and grandma. She will really be missed by so many for a very long time.
Lynn & Lori, I’m so sorry to hear about your mom. She and your dad were special people in my life since I was just a kid and over the years I always enjoyed being able to spend time with them. I’m out of town and so sorry I won’t be able to attend on Friday, but know that I’m thinking about your mom & you and your families.
Marilyn will be missed by her family and friends. We enjoyed our friendship with Jim and Marilyn. We were so lucky to meet them and follow them all over the Lake Area! And will never forget going to Mexico!

There are not enough words to say how special your mom was to me (and Bruce). She’s been a part of my life since I was little. I’ll miss her so. Hugs and love to you all.

How to express our sadness knowing Marilyn, too, has died. When our EHS Class of 1958 celebrated the 60th at the new EHS with the Culinary Class & Chef Low, we were seated in the area where classes would walk through going to their next classes. Jim and Marilyn spotted one of their Grandsons and his class. They called him over to their table, kissed him and announced to us “This is one of our family!” They were so proud of him. I think we were all pleased he, too, loved his Grandparents. He kissed them, hugged, and talked a minute before heading to class.
This coming Spring 2023 our Class of 1958 will celebrate our 65th. But this time there are more empty places; two are Jim and Marilyn’s. They will be missed.
Tonight you’ll greet friends and family as you grieve your Mom’s death. God bless you as you grieve and into the months ahead. Please remember you’re not alone in your grief. So many of your family, neighbors, and the whole community will remember all the goodness of The Wilsons.

So very sorry to hear of Marilyn’s passing. Our thoughts and prayers are with her family. We will certainly miss our yearly visit to discuss the garden tractor pull for Eudorafest.
Very sad to hear that Marilyn passed. She was a wonderful, warm lady, and will be missed. I am sure Jimmy was waiting for her with love and a big hug on the other side.
