A Memorial Service will be held at a later date for Kenneth Allen Dixon, 75, Lawrence. An inurnment will also be held at a later date at Thayer Cemetery in Thayer, KS. He passed away Thursday, December 7, 2017 at Lawrence Memorial Hospital.
Kenneth was born December 11, 1941in Larned, KS the son of Fred Howard and Velma Ruth (Gill) Dixon.
He served his country in the United States Army as a sergeant and continued his career in the National Guard until he retired.
He received an Associates of Science Degree from Neosho County Community College.
He married Lois Leann Turner on February 17, 1974 in Independence, KS. She survives of the home.
Other survivors include his son, John Howard Dixon, North Lawrence, KS; two daughters, Robin Elane Dixon-Barney, Cherryvale, KS, Debbie Ruth Dixon-Trimble; eight grandchildren, Hannah, Kobe, Kaleb, Kyler, Madison, Owen, Tia, J.B. Joshua, Emily, Michael, Jacob; five great grandchildren, Harry, Emmett, Raley, Katie, Wyatt; three great-grandchildren, Hope, Katie and Natalee; brother, John Wesley Dixon; and two sisters, Martha Jane Dixon-Rouch, Wichita, KS and Kathryn Emma Spellerburg, Idaho. He was preceded in death by his parents; three sisters, Wilma Jean Dixon-Burch, Freida Harlene Dixon-Morand, and Eva Hope Dixon-Pavey and two brothers, Larry and Donny.
Memorial Contributions may be made in his name to his son, John Dixon and may be sent in care of Warren-McElwain Mortuary.
