Funeral services for John Leland Dickerson, 83, Eudora, KS, will be held at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, December 28, 2021, at Warren-McElwain Mortuary in Eudora, 1003 John L Williams Drive, Eudora, KS 66025. Burial will follow at Oswego Cemetery in Oswego, KS. John passed away on Tuesday, December 21, 2021, at LMH Health.
John was born on July 26, 1938, in Parsons, KS, the son of Howard A. and Lucille (Hughes) Dickerson.
He married Delores “Susie” Cunningham on June 6, 1959, in Miami, OK. She survives of the home.
Other survivors include his daughters, Saundra Wisdom, Traci Dickerson, seven grandchildren, Kylene Dickerson, Joel Dickerson, Heather Dickerson, Cheyenne Wisdom, Kami Wisdom Morgan Starkebaum, Adam Starkebaum, seven great-grandchildren, Azura Clark, Maliya Clark, Brooklynn Clark, Malaki Clark, Dante Ray, Isaiah Ray, and Kyler Ray.
John was preceded in death by his parents, his brother, Gene, and son, John Bryan.
John was a kind, caring, gentle man. He truly loved people and animals, especially his registered Polled Herefords. He thrived on the love of his wife and family. John was the owner of Dickerson Brothers Construction Company and Crown D Farms.
In addition to his career, he was a master woodworker and avid fisherman. He was a devout Christian, a member of the Eudora United Methodist Church, where he frequently volunteered. He left this world a better place.
The family will greet friends from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. Monday, December 27, 2021, at the Warren-McElwain Mortuary in Eudora.
Memorial contributions may be made in John’s name to The Lawrence Humane Society or Eudora United Methodist Church and may be sent in care of Warren-McElwain Mortuary, 120 W. 13th Street, Lawrence, KS 66044.

I am sorry for the loss of John. Keep the memories. I remember the softball coaching and the warm evenings at the ballfield during the summer. Thanks to both of you for always helping as needed. Enjoyed our visits at church. My thougjts and prayers will continue for you and the family.
