Funeral services for Joan “Jody” M. McFann Greene, 92, Lawrence, will be held at 3:00 p.m., Friday, August 27, 2021, at Warren-McElwain Mortuary in Lawrence. Burial will follow at Highland Cemetery in Ottawa, KS. A visitation is scheduled for 1:00 ~ 3:00 p.m., Friday, August 27, 2021, at Warren-McElwain Mortuary in Lawrence. Jody passed away on Tuesday, August 17, 2021, at her home.
Jody was born on January 2, 1929, in Topeka, KS, the daughter of Chet and Faye (McClanahan) McFann.
She was a Secretary for IEBW Local Union 226.
She married Thomas F. Greene on July 10, 1999, in Lawrence, KS. He survives at the home.
Other survivors include her children; Steve Fredricks, Lawrence, KS, Kerry (Richard) Mendell, Ottawa, KS, Kelly (Todd) Hosler, Princeton, KS, eight grandchildren, fourteen great-grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren.
Memorial contributions may be made in Jody’s name to the Lawrence Humane Society and may be sent in care of Warren-McElwain Mortuary, 120 W. 13th Street, Lawrence, KS 66044.

Alice Jo and I are so sorry to hear about Jody’s passing. We enjoyed your friendship and will be praying for you during this difficult time. I broke my hip on Memorial Day and am still in rehab so regretfully we will not be able to attend the service.
Jody was a treasure to my mom, Marjorie Jacques. They were friends in high school but went separate ways for a good part of adult life. Mom met Jody again shortly after Dad passed away and the friendship renewed as if no time had passed at all. Mom is forever grateful for the space Jody filled in time of great need. Jody’s sense of humor kept all of us laughing at the “adventures” in life. Rest well dear soul. You are missed.
