Joan E. Dransfield

Joan E. Dransfield, 84, Lawrence, KS passed away peacefully on Thursday, March 28, 2024, at Meadowlark Estates in Lawrence. There are no formal services scheduled.

Joanie was born on June 22, 1939, in New York, NY, the daughter of Anthony and Mary (Conforti) Rugo, who preceded her in death.

She married Daniel Dransfield on November 24, 1960, in Butler, NJ, he preceded her in death.

Joanie loved arts and crafts, sewing, porcelain doll-making, cooking for her family and spending time at the Jersey shore.

She is survived by her cherished children, Mark (Liz) Dransfield, Daniel (Treesh) Dransfield, Maria (Jay) Thompson, siblings, Anthony (Julie Houchens) Rugo, Patricia (Bob) Smith. She was beloved as “Dine” to grandchildren, Kat Sullivan, Lizzy Wilson, Rebecca Dransfield, Nolan Dransfield, Ava Dransfield, Lily Thompson, Owen Thompson and great-grandchildren, Cate Sullivan, Claire Sullivan, Miles Sullivan, Leah Sullivan, Libby Wilson, and Julia Wilson.

Memorial contributions may be made in Joanie’s name to The American Cancer Society and may be sent in care of Warren-McElwain Mortuary, 120 W. 13th Street, Lawrence, KS 66044.

    watching her grow up and being bridesmaid at my wedding in 1956.
