Jeffery “Jeff” Timmons

Funeral services for Jeffery Dean “Jeff” Timmons, 44, Lawrence will be held 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, October 4, 2011 at Warren-McElwain Mortuary in Lawrence.  He died September 27, 2011 at his home.

He was born on April 5, 1967 in Bellingham, WA the son of Clifford Marvin and Frances Marie Barrager Timmons.  

He graduated from Washburn rural in 1985 and then attended a technical college in Arizona.  He then served his country in the U.S. Navy.

He currently was working as a press operator for Amarr Garage Doors in Lawrence. He previously worked for Del Monte in Topeka.

He enjoyed cooking, spending time with his nieces and nephews, playing pool, and especially disc golf where he was a member of the T “Canolli” team, where he was known as “Seabiscuit 77”.  He was also a member of AA and was active in helping with Boy Scouts.

Survivors include his mother; one brother, Bret Alan Timmons, Bonner Springs, KS; two sisters, Lisa Marie Bates, and husband, Michael Ray, Louisburg, KS, Christina Dawn Krauss, Lawrence, KS; nieces and nephews, Racheal Ann, and husband, Ryan William, Robby Alan, Mariah Dawn-Picabo, Cierra Michelle-Aday, Myka Shaun-Sky; great nieces and nephews, Abby B., Sadie Dawn, Kaytin Ann, Teagen Daxter, Brayden William-Izaic.  He was preceded in death by his father.

Memorial contributions may be made in his name to Jeffery Dean Timmons Memorial Fund and may be sent in care of the mortuary.

    Dear Frances and family,

    I am SO very sorry to hear of this tragic news. Our deepest sympathies and thought are with you all.

    Jeff was always so fun to spend time with when we came to Kansas, truly a special cousin indeed. I consider myself blessed to call him a part of my family.

    I went to school and graduated with Jeff. We lived down the street from each other. He was a good guy! My condolences are with you all. He will be missed.
