Services for Janelle Haling, 55, of Lawrence KS will be held privately at a later date. Janelle passed away at her home in Lawrence on January 25, 2018.
She was born to Lee and Lenore (Ostern) Stoltenow on October 29, 1962 in Breckenridge, Minnesota. Janelle was a dietary aid at Aurbor Court in Lawrence and she loved her profession.
Janelle loved being outside in nature, she loved to garden. She was a great cook and an avid baker. She enjoyed watching the Kansas Jayhawks and was all about anything that had to do with KU. Among all the thing she admired and found joy in, nothing compared to her family and how dearly she loved them.
Janelle leaves behind two daughters, Amanda and Jennifer Zachariah; three brothers, Michael (Leslie) Stoltenow, Scott (Lisa) Stoltenow, and Keith (Janice) Stoltenow; one sister, Denese Cabanas; and four grandchildren, Janda, Jennalee, Sicily, and Darien;
Janelle will missed by her friends and family dearly.
Am very sorry to learn about Janelle’s passing. She was a hard worker and learned our names quickly. I had the privilege of dancing with her during the Christmas celebration, even though the dance ended quickly, due to my poor balance.
She seemed to be a person who enjoyed friends and life.
Very sorry to hear about Janelle, please know that out thoughts and prayers are with you all.
Amanda and Jen,

Dear cousins, we all had so many good times when we were young. Losing your mom and now Janelle is so hard to fathom. Sending lots of hugs and prayers.
She was a great friend/co-worker. Always Smiling!! You are truly missed my friend!!
To Janelle’s Family,
I offer to you my sincere condolences to you while I know this is a rough thing to go through. Although I did not know Janelle personally it sounds like she was a wonderful person loved by many who she not only raised, but also those who she helped. During my times of mourning I kept fear to my heart a promise that I am sure will come true regarding there being everlasting life on a paradise earth with death and mourning being no more. I look forward to the time when I can laugh and spend time with those whom I’ve lost in death and I am sure you may feel the same about Janelle. I am so so sorry for your lost and hope that what has been a source of comfort to me can be that for you all in some way.
Sincere Condolences,
Mrs. Williams

A piece of my heart just broke loose. We had so much fun when we were kids. Then when I got married you and I had a very busy fun weekend – at least til my mom got a hold of us! Haha…. Janelle you will always be remembered with love & laughter. Til we meet again. Prayers for all of your family & friends. Cindy Pruett Merchant
I fell in love with Janelle when we were 13. She was my first love and forever a processor of my heart. We last had dinner together in 2013 in Lebanon, MO. I had no idea it would be the last time we would share and laugh and a smile. I will always miss you Janelle, and forever cherish all the sweet times in heart.
Janelle was such a good person and friend. She was always so kind in school. Please know my thoughts and prayers are with you all. ????☮️
