Hubbard Collinsworth, Jr.

Hubbard Collinsworth, Jr. passed away on November 27, 2014 at Lawrence Memorial Hospital in Lawrence, Kansas. He was born on June 3, 1947 in Texola, Oklahoma to Ida Mae (Goldin) Collinsworth and Hubbard M. Collinsworth, Sr. He was preceded in death by his parents.

Hubbard was a long-time resident of Lawrence, Kansas, where he was active in efforts to alleviate homelessness and to help his fellow citizens in need. He was an active participant in Lawrence civic life and he could frequently be found at City Hall. His gentle demeanor and friendly smile will be missed by all the many people who knew him.

Graveside service for Hubbard will be at 11 a.m. Monday, December 8, 2014 at Oak Hill Cemetery. A memorial service for Hubbard will be held at the Lawrence Community Shelter, 3655 N 1360 Rd, Lawrence, Kansas at 6 p.m. on Monday, December 8, 2014.

Memorial gifts may be made to the Hubbard Collinsworth Memorial Fund at any US Bank branch or through Warren-McElwain Mortuary, 120 W 13th St, Lawrence, KS 66044. Any funds not needed for last expenses will be donated to the Lawrence Community Shelter.
