Glenn Russell Lang passed away on March 30, 2023.
Russ was born in Junction City, KS on December 19, 1949, and graduated from Lawrence High School in 1967. He married his high school sweetheart, Kay, in 1968.
He was a member of IBEW for 20 years before becoming a REALTOR® with the Gill Agency, McGrew Real Estate, RE/MAX, and then retired at Lawrence Real Estate Connections in 2016.
Russ was a member of the Lawrence Board of Realtors (LBOR) for 35 years from 1981 to 2016. Russ served as the LBOR President in 1994 and had the distinct honor of receiving all 3 major LBOR Awards. Russ was REALTOR® of the Year in 1994, Salesperson of the Year in 2002, and was the recipient of The Distinguished Service Award in 2012.
Additionally, Russ served on the Board of Directors as Secretary in 1992, President-Elect in 1993, and Past President in 1995. Russ returned to the Board of Directors as a Director in 2009 & 2010.
Russ was preceded in death by his father, James Russell Lang, his mother, Mabel Laurine Praytor, and his sister, Cheryl (Lang) Favreau.
Russ is survived by his wife of 55 years, Kay Lang and their son Kent Lang, brother, Chris Lang, sisters Colleen Lang Butell and Debbie Nitsch.
An open viewing will be held at Warren McElwain on Tuesday, April 4 from Noon – 6pm.
A private service and burial will be held by the family.
Memorial contributions may be made in his memory to The Lawrence Humane Society or VNA Hospice and may be sent in care of Warren-McElwain Mortuary, 120 W. 13th Street, Lawrence, KS 66044.
