Gerald Adolph Brunner

Memorial services for Gerald Adolph Brunner, 85, Independence, MO, will be held at 2 p.m.
Saturday, March 25, 2023 at St. Luke’s United Church of Christ 727 N. Main Street, Independence, MO.

Gerald passed away on Friday, March 17, 2023 at Homestead of Olathe Memory Care in Olathe, KS.

Gerald was born on October 26, 1937 in Monroe, Wisconsin, the son of Adolph and Sylvia Marie (Schupbach) Brunner.

He was a farmer and later in life a semi-truck driver for Crete Carrier.

He was a member of St. Luke’s United Church of Christ in Independence MO. 

He had a love of music and was a long time member of the Green County Harmony Chorus in Monroe, WI and after moving to Independence, MO became a member of the Kansas City Metro Men’s Chorus.

He married Judith C. Pickett on March 16, 1957 in Nashua, Iowa. She survives of the home.

Other survivors include his daughter, Rebecca “Becki” J. Kersten; two sons, Jay A. Brunner,
Kerry J. Brunner; and sister, Ruth A. Deemer, and a grandchild, Jamie Brunner.

The family suggests memorials in Gerald’s name to the Alzheimer’s Association and may be sent in care of Warren-McElwain Mortuary, 120 W. 13 th Street, Lawrence, KS 66044.
