George Heiman

Memorial Mass of Christian Burial for George Henry Heiman, 66, of Lawrence, Kansas will be held 9:30 a.m., Saturday, September 18, 2010 at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church in Lawrence.  Mr. Heiman died Sunday, September 12, 2010 at his home.

He was born August 29, 1944 in Houston, Texas the son of Alfred and Edith Joyce (Smith) Heiman.

George was a graduate of Bryan High School in Bryan, Texas and he received his Bachelor Degree from Texas A&M University in College Station, Texas.

He served in the United States Air Force in Vietnam.

He worked as a computer engineer for many years.

He was a member of Tall Texans Club of Dallas and St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church in Lawrence.

George was married to Linda Marie Krische on November 8, 1974. She preceded him in death on October 20, 1986.

Survivors include one daughter, Catherine Rollins and her husband, Chris of Irving, Texas; three sons, Brian Heiman and his wife Aleida of Chester, New Jersey, Matthew Michael Heiman of Lawrence, Kansas, James Heiman of Lewisville, Texas; two sisters, Patricia Simmons of Montgomery, Texas and Jocelyn Calame of Mexia, Texas; four grandchildren, Michael Heiman, Lily, Grace and Emma Rollins.

A rosary will be said at 7 p.m. followed by visition until 8:30 p.m., Friday at Warren-McElwain Mortuary, Lawrence, KS.  Memorial contributions may be made in his name to the American Diabetes Association and sent in care of the mortuary.
