There are no formal services planned for Gary F. Roit, 75, Lawrence. Gary passed away Monday, June 10, 2019 at his home.
Gary was born October 13, 1944 in Meriden, KS, the son of Frank and Virginia (Neiberger) Roit.
He was a self-employed carpenter and woodworker. He was a Country Boy and stubborn as hell.
He was preceded in death by his life-long love, Shirley McCawley.
Survivors include his two sisters, Sharon Roit, Perry, KS, Kathy Roit, Atchison, KS; two brothers, Frankie Roit, McLouth, KS, Larry Roit, Georgia; daughter Shannan McCawley, Chane; nine grandchildren, Dominicke, Damitrious, Kristine, Richia, Destini, Sarah, Marquise, Mariah Nicole and Monique; five great grandchildren; and all of their friends at 23rd Sonic.

Many times I have thought about our times as teenagers. You were my big brother, and I would get so mad at you following me everywhere. But, you did it out of love, and that’s ok.
I had paybacks for you too. Remember the movies and the popcorn.
I am sure you are reading this as I write it. The fun we had. For what it’s worth, I love you my brother in friendship. RIP!
