Edna Rigg

Private inurnment for Edna Lucella Rigg, 97, Lawrence will be held December 3, 2011 at the Texhoma Cemetery in Texhoma, Texas.

“Lucella” was born on February 15, 1914 near Griggs in Cimmaron County, OK the daughter of Lorenzo and Edna Williams Fitzgerald. She married Clarence Rigg on December 7, 1933.

She worked for the Rock Island Railroad as a Telegraph Operator and Station Agent from 1942 until retirement in 1972.

She was a member of the Brotherhood of Railway Clerks and attended the Nazarene Church.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Clarence Rigg, on February 19, 1969 and her son, Howard Rigg, on March 4, 2007.
 
Survivors include a sister Juanita Booth and husband, Pierce, Lake Charles, LA, two granddaughters, Joe Ann Rigg Moore and husband, Rick, Dalhart TX and Cindy Rigg, Abilene KS; one grandson, J.R. Rigg, Herington, KS, five great grandchildren and four great great grandchildren. She was also preceded in death by seven brothers, Jennings Fitzgerald, Howard Fitzgerald, Bill Fitzgerald, Everal Fitzgerald, Stanely Fitzgerald, Ferris Fitzgerald, and Paul Fitzgerald.

Memorial contributions may be made in her name to Bridge Haven – Memory Care Residence and may be sent in care of the Warren-McElwain Mortuary.
