  21. Cathy (Craig) Dalton on February 4, 2014 at 7:36 pm

    Dottie,

You have been my best friend in our post high school years and young motherhood before I moved to Dallas. We lived through some of our craziest, most dramatic, painful and carefree times imaginable back then. We shared nearly everything and continued to touch base or get together to see how the other is doing and what paths we have chosen. I have often thought that I wish I had a local friend here that I held as much trust in as you. And I loved your sense — whether dry or black at times. I kind of hoped we’d grow old together, continuing to pat each other on the back for being happy survivors of our first marriages and happily married now. Please give little Bobbie and my Herb a big hug for me — and give my love to my mom and dad my love too. Hold a seat for me girl.

I want your husband, Dale, kids Shannon and Dale Jr, and grandkids to know that they can call on me any time and I will do my best to do what’s right. I hope they let me know of the big events in their lives so that I can celebrate it with them as you have helped me celebrate mine.

When the sun comes out after the rain, Dottie, I’ll always think of how we did that too in our lives. I am beyond sad now and don’t understand it, but I pray that God will wrap his arms around your loved ones and carry them awhile as they try to put one foot in front of the other. All my Love,

    Cathy
