Private graveside services for Donald Winklmeier, 65, Ozawakie, KS, will be held at a later date at Memorial Park Cemetery in Lawrence.  Donald passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, January 27, 2024, at his home.

Donald was born on August 8, 1958 in Lawrence, KS, the son of Henry and Rosemarie (Grosse) Winklmeier.

He graduated from Lawrence High School in 1976.

He was an auto mechanic.

Survivors include his mother, Rosemarie Winklmeier; his sisters, Sylvia Black and Laurie Lassley; four nieces and one nephew.

He was preceded in death by his father, Henry Winklemeier and his uncle and aunt Bob and Maria Rood.

    Don was a good friend in the school days and was a true car guy. We spent hours talking shop and cars every time we bumped into each other.
    Don , you were a fun guy, you will be missed.
