Dessie J. Williams

Funeral services for Dessie J. Williams, 94, Eudora will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, May 22, 2015 at Eudora Baptist Church in Eudora. Burial will follow at Eudora Cemetery. She passed away Tuesday, May 19, 2015 at Medicalodges Eudora.

Dessie was born March 15, 1921 in Fredonia, KS the daughter of Cornelius and Nettie Cox.

She married Clinton A. Williams January 12, 1941 in Yates Center, KS. He preceded her in death May 15, 2003.

Survivors include two sons, Ronald “Ron” and wife, Kay Williams, Bluffton, SC, Richard “Rick” and wife, Mary Grosdidier Williams, Eudora; and one grandson, Bradley Williams. She was also preceded in death by an infant daughter, Shelia R. Williams on August 10, 1943; and one grandson, Douglas Kent Williams on December 26, 2009.

The family will greet friends from 6:00–8:00 p.m. Thursday, May 21, 2015 at Warren-McElwain Mortuary – Eudora Chapel in Eudora.

Memorial contributions may be made in her name to the Eudora Baptist Church Youth Group or Low Country Foundation for Wounded Military Heroes (LCFWMH) and may be sent in care of Warren-McElwain Mortuary.

    We will miss Dessie dearly. She has been such a prayer warrior for us and we appreciate the love and care she has always shown our family.     Ron and Rick,

    It was such a pleasure to see your mother’s beautiful face and feel her beautiful soul at Medicalodges. It was such an honor to be a part of her care during that last chapter of her life. She will be missed greatly by all and we will think of her often.
