We both worked with Daryl at DuPont and often shared rides with him to and from work. There was never a dull moment. We have many funny tales to share that makes us laugh out loud even at this sad time. Daryl was a character from the get go and you could always count on having an exciting time whenever you were around him. You never quite knew what to expect or when to expect it. Daryl brings many smiles to the faces of those who knew him. Paula and Willard
Thanks to his former wife, Gloria Souza, and my dear friend, it was my honor and privilege to meet Daryl and get to know him over the many years. He was such a nice, kind, polite, considerate Gentleman, always with a quick smile, chuckle and laugh. He truly had a positive outlook on life and was so very caring of others. I will always remember he was so ready with his big smile, grin and laughs. God Bless Daryl in Heaven. In Jesus Name we pray, Amen.
Daryl was a nice person to know and to work with.
God bless his FAMILY.
We are so sadden by Daryl’s passing. He was a great friend but more like family to us and our kids. We will miss him so much. Our prayers are with the family. We will miss his smile, laughter and just his big heart. No one can feel the void in our hearts. We loved him so much and miss him so much. May God bless his family and keep them safe and give them peace. We love you all.
As a coworker of Daryl’s for many years at E.I Dupont in both Iowa and Kansas I can truly say he was one of a kind. His sense of humor never failed in any situation. A unique person with a heart as big as his smile. My deepest codolences to his family.
I share in the grief at the lose of Daryl. Always fun to be around, funny, and sooo good looking. Daryl was one of kind and a pleasure to have known. Heaven is so lucky to have him – now he really does know who was responsible for JFK’s and MM’s death.
It is so hard to lose a brother, Roberta and Cheryl, and my prayers for comfort are with you and the other members of Daryl’s family.

I TALKED TO DARYL A COUPLE TIMES IN THE LAST MONTH & WE COMPARED HEALTH PROBLEMS. WE COULDN’T BELIEVE OUR CONVERSATIONS HAD COME TO THAT. WE LAUGHED ABOUT IT AT THE TIME. I WORKED WITH HIM AT DUPONT IN CLINTON. WE LIVED IN FOLLETTS,IA & ALWAYS CARPOOLED. HE WAS THE ONLY GUY I COULD DO THAT WITH! WE HAVE ALWAYS STAYED IN TOUCH OVER THE YEARS. YOU BOYS MIGHT REMEMBER US COMING TO VISIT WHEN YOU LIVED IN THE OLD STONE HOUSE ABOUT 1988 OR 89. MY BOYS NEVER FORGOT. WISH WE COULD HAVE MADE IT BACK JUST LIKE HE ALWAYS WISHED HE COULD MAKE IT TO WV. HE’LL BE MISSED … HE WAS A GREAT FRIEND & ALWAYS MADE YOU LAUGH!! HE’LL ALWAYS BE REMEMBERED IN WEST VIRGINIA! OUR PRAYERS ARE WITH YOU GUYS.

I was surprised and sadden to learn of Daryl’s passing. I have very fond childhood memories of Daryl. But now he is at peace. Our family will keep your family in our thoughts and prayers.
Daryl’s friends & family gave him a very nice memorial tribute on Saturday, August 21st, where he had resided in Eudora. So many beautiful pictures and mementos of Daryl’s life were present. It was good to see home movies of him from his young days in his beloved Iowa farm country. Daryl was such a good, kind, sweet, jovial & jolly man…..a true gentleman. It was my privilege and pleasure to get to know him from when he starting dating my good friend, Gloria, back in December 93. Daryl was a sweet heart and we all here on earth will miss him very much. God Bless Daryl in Heaven. In Jesus sweet name we pray, Amen.
Daryl was my greatest friend I ever worked with. He and I played ball together in high school, went in the Air Force about the same time, and started at DuPont in Clinton about a month apart. I worked with him most of the years he was in Clinton on the same shift. He was the shift “entertainer” and also remember the days with Dick Lueders and Jim Nichols. They always referred to us as “Munck and Bentley”. There was never a dull moment around Daryl, and he was an awesome worker as well. We “ran” the shift, kinda. Everyone looked to Daryl for help and advise about the job. He was a gifted mechanic and just a truly wonderful man and friend. I will miss him forever. To this day, when I run into someone from the old days, they always say, “where’s your old buddy Munck?” I’ll never forget him and what a wonderful person and man he was. The best friend a guy could ever have. The days of Myself, Cowboy, Butzie, Wally, Ron Harding, Papke, Duff, Treakle, and many more will be embossed in my pleasant thoughts forever.Rest in Peace “Old Fuzz”. My Daughter coined that name when she was just a little girl, when he used to come to our house back in the 70’s. So long, Fuzzie Pumper….. Dan (BOOT)
Daryl was a freind and coworker and he was a hoot to be around. Daryl will be miss by more people than he could evey know. While Daryl rides the wild blue sky, we will ride in memory of Daryl on earth, until our harlys cross paths again. Forever and a day
The 61st Anniversary of dear Daryl’s Birthday was October 8, 2010. Many of his friends & loved ones honored his memory on 10-8-10 on Facebook. We all remember that his Heavenly Birthday was Sunday, 8-8-10. We all miss Daryl so much. Heaven is a much brighter place with Daryl in it.
