Memorial service for Constance “Connee” E. Breyley, 66, Lawrence will be held 1:30 p.m. Saturday, June 12, 2010 at Warren-McElwain Mortuary. Mrs. Breyley died June 6, 2010 at Lawrence Memorial Hospital.
She was born on April 6, 1944 in Clay Center, KS the daughter of Melvin and Mary Walters Stoll.
Connee grew up on a family farm in Greenleaf, Kansas where she attended Grade School. She graduated from Marysville High School. During High School she was a scholar in foreign languages including French and Latin. She was also a member of the Pep Squad. She attended The University of Kansas receiving an advanced degree in Russian Literature. She was an associate professor at KU. Connee enjoyed cooking in her later years and the Saturday Farmer’s Market.
She met Tom Breyley during college, they later married and spent 45 years together.
Memorial contributions may be made in her name to the American Heart Association-Go Red for Women and may be sent in care of the mortuary.
Dear Tom, I am so sorry to hear of Connee’s passing. I will miss her smiling face and words of encouragement she shared with all of us at Hy-Vee. She will be missed greatly by all of us. Please know that you are in my thoughts and prayers as you go through this hard time.
