There are no services scheduled at this time for Charla R. Jenkins, 70, Lawrence. She passed away Wednesday July 25, 2018 at Lawrence Memorial Hospital.
Charla was born September 18, 1947 in Emporia, Kansas, to the daughter of Charles and Christine (Bonczkowski) Jenkins.
She was a Journalist for the University of Kansas Theatre Department.
Survivors include her sister, Raye Street, niece, nephews, good friend Kathy Pryor, caregivers, Candy and Felicia Patterson and extended family.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Memorial Contributions may be made to Lawrence Humane Society or KUEA (Kansas Endowment Association in memory of Charla Jenkins / KU Theater Department and may be sent in care of Warren-McElwain Mortuary.
You will be missed! You made the move to Lawrence easier for me, all those years ago. Good times were had by all. Thank you.

I went to school with Charla from kindergarten at Maynard on though graduation from EHS in 1965. i hadn’t seen her for many years but am sad to hear that she has passed away.
Sorry to hear of Charlas passing.We had fun throughout our school years’Maynard and EHS.Always remember her laughter.

I worked with Charla for many years as her advertising rep for the paper. She was one of the nicest people I knew. Peace be with her and my sympathies to her family and friends.
Raye and Family I just found out yesterday (Aug. 23rd) that Charla died. I am so sorry for your loss. Always had a lot of fun with Charla, back in the days when we were young, and always enjoyed visiting with her. My heart goes out to you and the Family. Connie Bonczkowski
