Memorial services for Bobby Robbins, 84, Lawrence, will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, July 9, 2022, at First Christian Church 1000 Kentucky Street Lawrence. The family will greet friends an hour prior to the service at the church. Bob passed away Sunday, July 3, 2022, at Menorah Medical Center in Overland Park, KS.
Bob was born on December 17, 1937, in Baldwin, KS the son of Albert and Florence Irene (Smith) Robbins.
He served in the U.S. Marine Corps. Bob worked at FMC for 36 years as a shift supervisor. Prior to that, he drove a truck for Zaremba Oil, was a mechanic and enjoyed farming.
Bob enjoyed fishing, gardening, camping, putting together puzzles, reading, and watching the Royals and Jayhawks. After retirement, he loved traveling with his wife, Betty, with fond memories of their trip to Ireland and England. He was happiest when surrounded by family and friends. Being “Gramps” to many was one of the greatest highlights of his life.
He married Betty Golden on December 15, 2001, in Lawrence, KS. She survives of the home.
Other survivors include his children, Cindy Miller, Troy (Karen) Robbins, Bradley (Tina) Robbins all of Lawrence, KS; Terri (Allen) Rockhold, Baldwin City, KS, Cindy Hadl, and Pam Sheaffer both of Lawrence, KS; his brother, Leonard (Linda) Robbins of Pomona, KS; 15 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren; and many other relatives and friends.
Bob was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Saundra Robbins, his son, Tracy Robbins, and brothers Lee and Jim Robbins.
Memorial contributions may be made in Bob’s name to Disabled American Veterans or to the National Kidney Foundation and may be sent in care of Warren-McElwain Mortuary, 120 W. 13th Street, Lawrence, KS 66044.
A private family graveside service will be held Oak Hill Cemetery following the service.

I am so thankful that God gave me Uncle Bob as fun and loving part of my life. I remember the many nights that we went uncle Bob’s house in east Lawrence, cousins played outside while our parents were in the house playing cards. Those are very dear and precious memories.
