Audrey Cherlyn “Cheri” Skidmore

Funeral services for Audrey Cherlyn “Cheri” Skidmore, 71, Perry, KS will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, December 31, 2015 at Warren-McElwain Mortuary in Lawrence followed by a graveside at Oak Hill Cemetery. She passed away Tuesday, December 29, 2015 at Lawrence Memorial Hospital.

Cheri was born May 30, 1944 in San Bernardino, CA the daughter of Roy F. and Marian Zoe (Cackler) Pinegar.

She received her nursing degree in San Bernardino, CA. Cheri was an LPN at Samaritan Lodge, Valley View and Brandon Woods in Lawrence from 1975 until she retired in 2002.

She was a member of the Clinton Parkway Assembly of God Church in Lawrence.

She married Coy Lee Skidmore September 11, 1977 in Lawrence. He preceded her in death on February 15, 1992.

Survivors include her daughter, Julie Castle (Darin), Perry, KS; son, John Keyes, Santa Rosa, CA; six grandchildren, Katelyn Maxwell, Jarid Castle, Misty Lee, Tracy Keyes, Stephan Scheideman, Cara Scheideman; three great grandchildren, Elijah, Janette, Jaxon; two brothers, Mike Pinegar, Steve Pinegar, both Lawrence; and one sister, Dani Sheltry, Lawrence. She was preceded in death by her husband and daughter, Janette Scheideman on March 10, 1995.

Memorials may be made in her name to the Cheri Skidmore Memorial Fund and may be sent in care of Warren-McElwain Mortuary.

    So sorry to hear of Cheri’s passing. It was a few years ago when Don and I ran into her at the cemetery which we visited every year since Coy’s death. We had some great times with Coy and Cheri. I lost Don in June 2014 so I know the pain you are feeling. My heart is with you.

    Im so sorry for your loss. I loved her very much. I am honered to have been able to take care of her and get to know her. Im glad to have been one of her friends. She used to give my son rides around the facility on her chair. She will be deeply missed. Much love Cory Langford
