Graveside services for Alice A. Troxel, 97, Lawrence, KS, will be held at 9:30 a.m. Saturday, June 30, 2012 at Penwell-Gabel Cemetery in Topeka, KS. She died on Wednesday, June 27, 2012 at Lawrence Memorial Hospital.
Alice was born on April 11, 1915 in Sabetha, KS the daughter of John and Nina (Lynn) Reinhardt.
Alice moved to Lawrence in 1965 with her son James and her mother Nina.
She was self employed typing thesis and later worked at KU Printing Service.
She married Roy E. Troxel on June 4, 1938 in McPherson, KS. He preceded her in death in 1964. She was also preceded in death by her three brothers, John, Mark, and Eugene Reinhardt.
She was a member of First United Methodist Church and volunteered for the Baptist meal site.
Survivors include one daughter, Linda Troxel, Lawrence; three sons, David Troxel, Lenexa, KS, Allen Troxel, Kansas City, MO, James Troxel, Glendale, AZ; six grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; and one sister, Ada Aeschliman, Sabetha, KS.
The family suggests memorials in her name to the Douglas County Senior Services and may be sent in care of the mortuary.
