Robert James Bower

There are no formal services scheduled for Robert James Bower, 89, Lawrence, KS. Bob passed away on Monday, September 16, 2024, at LMH Health.

Bob was born on November 5, 1934, in Fairbury, NE, the son of Fred James and Verna Allisa (Gudgel) Bower.  He worked as an automobile mechanic.  After retirement Bob worked as a semi-truck driver.  He held a CDL license until his death.

Bob was preceded in death by his parents.  Survivors include his sons, Terry (Marlene) Bower of Tucson, AZ, Michel (Sue) Bower of Lawrence, KS, Bruce (Jennie) Bower of Leavenworth, KS, sister, Phyllis McCown of Fairbury, NE, five grandchildren, and eight great-grandchildren.

Memorial contributions may be made in Bob’s name to Pioneer Ridge Retirement Community (Skilled Nursing) or the Burn and Wound Care Clinic at the University of Kansas Health System and may be sent in care of Warren-McElwain Mortuary, 120 W. 13th Street, Lawrence, KS 66044.
