Memorial services for Barbara Jean Pennewell, 87, Baldwin City, KS will be at the Flory Building 2120 Harper St Lawrence 66046 at 1:00pm Sunday November 19th. Barbara passed away Monday, November 6, 2023, at LMH Health.
Barbara was born on September 26, 1936, in Tulsa, OK, the daughter of Eugen Vernon and Rose (Brewer) Slater.
She married William Edward in June of 1955 in Kansas City. He preceded her in death on Feb 10th, 2011.
Survivors include her son, Bill (Shelly Myers) Pennewell, Jim (Chris) Pennewell, Joe (Diane) Pennewell, Louise Pennewell, Edward Pennewell, 13 grandchildren, 33 great-grandchildren, 14 great-great grandchildren, 6 great-great-great grandchildren.
Barbara was preceded in death by her parents, husband, son, Vernon Pennewell, daughter, Barbara Pickens, and three sisters.
Barbara enjoyed boating, camping, traveling, painting, dancing, playing cards with her friends, and most of all family.

She was a wonderful lady,Friend &
Cook. I lost touch with her when Ioved away but thought about every time I started work at another Holiday Inn

Louise, Bill, Joe as well as the entire Pennewell family, you’re in my thoughts and prayers at this difficult time. There is never a “right time” to lose a loved one, but so near the holiday’s, it begin’s your year of “first’s” without someone you love, at the hardest time. Please know old friends are praying for, and with you. My deepest condolences to all of you.
