Sarah Marie Lopez Branstetter

In Loving Memory of Sarah Marie Lopez Branstetter

On August 25, 2023, the world dimmed a little as we said goodbye to our beloved Sarah, who passed away unexpectedly at 27 at her home in Lawrence, Kansas. While her physical presence has left us, her spirit will forever remain in our hearts.

Born on May 18, 1996, in the sun-kissed city of San Diego, California, Sarah brought a ray of light into the lives of her parents, David, Jr. and Heather Marie Lopez Branstetter. She was more than a daughter; she was a shining star in their lives.

Sarah’s heart overflowed with love and compassion. She found joy in the act of creation, pouring her soul into every project she undertook. Her creative spirit knew no bounds, and her artistic endeavors touched the lives of all fortunate enough to experience them.

Sarah’s nurturing spirit didn’t stop there. She embraced the role of a second mother to her three cherished siblings, showing them unwavering support, guidance, and love. Her devotion to her family was a testament to the beautiful soul she is.

Sarah leaves behind a legacy of love and unity. She is survived by her parents, “Hey, Old Man” and Mama, and her adoring siblings, Alex, Azi, and Bekah. They will forever carry her memory in their hearts.

In honor of Sarah’s life, a private family service will celebrate the joy and warmth she brought to all who knew her. For those wishing to pay their respects, contributions can be made to the Sarah Branstetter Memorial Fund. Checks can be made payable to David Branstetter and sent to Warren-McElwain Mortuary at 120 W. 13th Street, Lawrence, KS 66044.

As we navigate this sorrow, let us remember the light Sarah brought into our lives. May her spirit guide us towards compassion, creativity, and unwavering love for one another.
