Rick was an inspiring father, brother, grandfather, uncle, and friend to many. Rick’s son stated his dad was his “Rocky/Bruce Lee/Superman all in one; he was the strongest man he had ever known. He could fix, build, or repair anything he set his mind to. One of his sisters remembers how Rick stepped in as a father figure after her parents divorced, which made her feel protected. Even as he battled with cancer and lived in constant pain, he continued to shine love and light to all who visited with him. Besides his family, his passions were reading (he loved learning), gardening and an occasional debate. In his earlier years, he enjoyed playing and teaching chess and he was the dungeon master of his group of friends he played with for over 20+ years of Dungeons & Dragons . He worked for M-T-B, a window washing services out of Kansas City for over 40 years. Rick truly loved every moment of hanging from high rise buildings cleaning windows, hanging from his trusty chair . As a window cleaner, he helped others see the world more clearly, just as his kind, gentle spirit lit up those around him.
