A Celebration of Life for Deborah “Debbie” Kay Spaulding Nelson, 69, Lawrence will be held from 12:00 – 3:00 p.m., Saturday, May 13, 2023, at Empire Bar & Billiards, 925 Iowa Street, Lawrence, KS, 66044. Deborah passed away Wednesday, April 26, 2023, at her home.
Deborah was born on August 2, 1953, in Rock Island, IL, the daughter of George W. and Lois Earlene (Fuller) Spaulding. She was also raised by her stepfather, Clifford A. Tarlton.
She was a mail processing supervisor for Cottonwood, Inc. in Lawrence.
In life Debbie enjoyed camping at Clinton Lake, fishing, spending time with her family, she loved the Jurassic Park movies, old country music, her cat’s sassy and Trix and her dogs Bloom and Harley.
She fought a brave fight against cancer. Debbie was very loved and will be greatly missed.
She is survived by her children, Misty Lyn Eaton (Kenneth Byerley), Elizabeth Diane (Ernest) Bever, Paul Jarrett (Camille) Roeber, siblings, James L. Jacobs, Beth Lorene Carpenter, Dortha Earlene Webb, fourteen grandchildren, Zachary Kilcrease, Alyson Roeber, Kayla Roeber, Courtney Roeber, Kaden Roeber, Ashli Evans, Codilyn Roeber, Kevin Eaton, Calvin Cooper, Makayla Cooper, Jayden Cooper, Destri Tarlton, Darren Tarlton, Heather Davis, four great-grandchildren, Calista Brown, Cliffton Brown, Layla Hale, and Jordan Evans.
Deborah was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Jerry Nelson, son, Clifford E. Tarlton, and brother, Donald Jacobs.
She was always a mother figure to me and I’ll greatly miss her I’ll definitely miss her smile sorry for your loss
