  14. Sara Sumner on February 13, 2022 at 11:15 am

I am so sorry for your most devastating loss of your bright and beautiful son, Brian. There is no greater pain than to lose a child. We lost our beloved son Cas, in October. He also loved playing video games and his dog, Apollo. He was in Brian’s class and I’m sure that Brian and Cas must have known eachother/had classes together. If you want, reach out to Compassionate Friends grief group for parents. It has helped me. We meet the 2nd Monday of the month at 7 pm at Unity Church in Lawrence. We share about our kids and our grief journey. The Helping Parents Heal website and facebook page has also helped to connect with other parents going through this rough journey that only other parents who have lost a child understand. Eventhough we don’t know eachother, please feel free to reach out to me as well and I will help any way I can. I know this is the hardest thing a parent can experience and it truly isn’t fair. Sending love and prayers for strength to your family.
    -Sara Sumner (Cas Sumner’s Mom)
