Mary Lucille Bailey

Mass of Christian Burial for Mary Lucille Bailey, 95, Chandler, Arizona (formerly from Lawrence, KS) will be held at 1:30 p.m. Thursday, December 30, 2021 at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church in Lawrence. Burial will follow in Mt. Calvary Cemetery in Lawrence. The family will greet friends from 5-7 p.m. on Wednesday, December 29, 2021 at Warren-McElwain Mortuary in Lawrence. Mary died on December 14, 2021 in Chandler, Arizona.

Mary was born December 12, 1926 in Lawrence, KS the daughter of Chester Arthur Connett and Bertha Ellen (Newman) Connett.

She worked at Weaver’s for many years while living in Lawrence. She and her husband Delbert retired to Arizona in 1988. She was a Charter Member of St. John’s Daughter’s of Isabella. She enjoyed making and selling crafts at local craft fairs.

She married Delbert M. Bailey on April 20, 1946 in Lawrence, KS. He preceded her in death on June 21, 2004. She was also preceded in death by her parents, her grandson, Evan Lee Bailey, and by her siblings, John Connett, James Connett, Madeline Norris, Norma Gunn, Ellen Shobe.

She is survived by her three daughters, Patricia Sue (William) Buck of Dunedin, Florida, Carolyn Ann Allen, Lawrence, KS, Deborah Marie (Mark) Cole, Chandler, AZ, two grandchildren, Stacia Marie Buck, Brian Del Bailey, six great grandchildren, and one great-great grandchild.
